Our Story

Wilson Steele Commercial Real Estate Group LLC, based in Chattanooga, TN, is a newly formed but rapidly emerging boutique commercial real estate firm established in December 2022 by industry veteran Sim Wilson with 37 years of institutional level commercial real estate expertise. Wilson Steele offers a broad range of commercial real estate services including transaction services (sales and leasing), corporate account management, transaction management, property and facilities management, engineering services, project management and development consulting. Wilson Steele is licensed in Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida and has assembled a world class team of professionals to support it's delivery model of service, accountability, and integrity.

The company name Wilson Steele was adopted by founding principal Sim Wilson to honor his uniquely gifted and valued mentor Ruth Steele. Ruth was born in 1925 in Corn Creek KY and, from that remote area, became an evangelist/pastor when women were scarce and perhaps unwelcome by most traditional establishments. Ruth left her humble beginnings in 1962 with a VW Beatle and coffee pot following her heart to pastor a church in Santa Maria, California. When Ruth’s dreams and goals were challenged by the inability of her Church Denomination to pay the salary of a female pastor, Ruth persevered into the unchartered real estate industry to generate income and to maintain her calling and focus on the church she loved. The unstoppable spirit of Ruth Steele went on to amass an impressive portfolio of real estate investments that not only met her every personal need but allowed her to build and personally fund the construction of the Church she so faithfully pastored and continues to support her and many other families today. Ruth Steele is 98 years young, still walking and standing tall amongboth men and women alike. Ruth introduced Sim Wilson to the real estate industry in 1987.

Initial real estate licensure and training in Southern California and Central Coast California areas. Sim managed business development, leasing and property management for MGR Services, Inc. and Schneider Commercial Real Estate located in the Inland Empire.
1994 - 2004

Directed all activities of CBRE's Asset Services division in Florida. Grew the division to dominate statewide leader in management services and landlord leasing from 1.3 million square fee to 25 million square feet (Top 3 Nationally). One of 50 individuals to receive title of Partner with CBRE. Received numerous awards and appeared on multiple national business development and leadership teams. Managed a statewide team of 250 professionals.
2004 - 2009

Developed Agency Leasing practice for CBRE in Miami, growing to the total portfolio to more than 3 million square feet. Executed largest office transaction in So Fla. $208 million and awarded 2004 Business Journal "Deal of the Year" award. CBRE "Top 5" producer in 2008. Professional accomplishments include completion for more than 4 million square feet of transactions.
2009 - 2017

Developed multi-market disposition program for Regions Bank spanning their 18 State portfolio, growing the business to a $15M annual enterprise. Providing sophisticated Commercial Real Estate Transaction Execution and Transaction Management with a Multi-Market emphasis within the United States. Local CBRE Leadership and transaction execution in the greater Chattanooga - Cleveland - Knoxville, Tennessee area for Investor Occupier clients.

Sim provides property acquisition, disposition and leasing services for CBRE's Advisory and Transaction Services business unit. Sim represents corporate and institutional clients across the Southeast and is an expert level real estate advisor specializing in multi-market representation, banking transactions, office occupier representation and property sales.

Sim Wilson is President of Wilson Steele Commercial Real Estate Group. Sim serves the greater Chattanooga MSA, East Tennessee and Southeast markets providing sophisticated real estate solutions for a wide range of transaction types and clients and is a Principle Broker in Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and Florida. Sim has been a commercial real estate professional for more than 37 years and most recently Senior Vice President with CBRE for more than 28 years, holding positions at executive levels, account management and large market brokerage roles. Sim's award-winning passion for service and deep experience has benefited clients in more than 1,200 real estate transactions over the span of his career with ever-increasing levels of complexity. Since his transition from Miami to Tennessee in 2009, Sim has been a market force, producing consistently high local client outcomes in Investment Sales, User Sales, Leasing, Tenant Representation and Account Management.
